About the Opportunity

We are seeking two Physician Medical Staff members to join a newly formed Transparency and Communications Steering Committee.

Background:

A steering committee comprised of physicians, Medical Staff Association (MSA) Executives and members of the recently developed Medical & Academic Affairs Partnerships and Communication portfolio has been formed to drive greater transparency in decision-making and communications at Island Health.

The Transparency and Communications Steering Committee is a subgroup of the Island HAMSA (Health Authority Medical Staff Association) Executive Committee (HEC). The Steering Committee was formed out of recommendations from the HAMSA to address feedback raised by the Island MSAs regarding communication from Island Health to all levels of medical staff.

Members will have the opportunity to influence culture change at Island Health through best practice communications and co-developed solutions that seek to embed transparent practices.

Available Positions:
There is a total of 2 open positions for physicians based in the Central and North Island.

Physician Compensation: Physicians will be compensated for their time at the Doctors of BC honoraria rate through though regional Facility Engagement Initiative funding.

Time Commitment: Attendance at one bi-monthly 90 minute meeting for 12+ months is expected. Meetings will be held virtually, with the option for an ad hoc in-person meeting.
