About the Opportunity

In an effort to focus on developing a culture of engagement and continuous quality improvement amongst physicians, PQI offers funding via two separate avenues. 1) PQI Cohort: Annual, by application. 1 year contract starting September 1st. Funding provides compensation for physicians to undertake self-identified QI projects. PQI technical staff support the physicians throughout their projects. Participants are required to complete a training program consisting of 7 full-day physician QI workshops. 2) PQI Small Project Funding: Rolling, by application. 6 months max. Funding provides compensation for physicians to undertake a small, focused project limited to 6 months. This funding is suitable for physicians who already have formal QI training and experience. Participants have access to data analysis and other technical staff for guidance but are expected to complete the project without elbow to elbow assistance. (Intake for PQI Small Project funding is currently on hold while the application form and specific criteria is under review by the PQI Steering Committee, after which intake will resume on a rolling basis starting approx. Jan 2018). For more information and for applications, contact Carolyn Carlson, PQI Manager for Island Health at Carolyn.Carlson@viha.ca
