About the Event

World Patient Safety Day is an annual campaign to enhance global understanding of patient safety, increase public engagement in the safety of health care and promote global actions to enhance patient safety and reduce patient harm.

This year’s theme is “Medication Without Harm” and BCPSQC is sharing a few ways that you can support the campaign.

Webinar: Learning from Patient Safety Incidents

Join Healthcare Excellence Canada on September 15 for a conversation on what is needed to create a “safe-to-say” culture that better understands the factors that contribute to patient safety incidents. Patients, families and providers will also discuss what is needed to create safer care for everyone involved.

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada is hosting a session that will discuss strategies to empower patients and families in safe medication use.

Created by the First Nations Health Authority in collaboration with Doctors of BC, Coyote’s Food Medicines is a tool that uses storytelling to raise awareness among Indigenous Elders regarding healthy medication use.
