Population-based SARS-CoV-2 Sero-Prevalence and Vaccine Effectiveness Update from British Columbia

Speaker: Dr. Danuta Skowronski

With more than 175 scientific publications, Dr. Danuta Skowronski of the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) informs surveillance, research and program/policy recommendations for influenza, and more recently COVID-19. She is credited with pioneering development of the test-negative design, a methodology now used globally for seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness monitoring. Dr. Skowronski also leads the anonymized, community-based sero-survey protocol used since 2009 for efficient monitoring of emerging respiratory virus sero-prevalence in the Lower Mainland, BC.
